Poker Aces – the right way to play them

March 1st, 2010 at 7:21

Poker Aces references two aces dealt before theflop. It’s the best attainable pre-flop hand intexas hold’em Poker. But despite this many competitors find themselves on the losing end when given these cards.

When you’re dealt a pair of Aces, you just do not fold before theflop. You are positioned with the greatest possible hand at this part of the round. So how do you wager with Poker Aces ? Do you basically go all-in? I’d say absolutely no to that.

Bear in mind, you’re trying to generate as much money from this strong position. You want to maximize the possibility. Going all-in will merely scare most competitors into dropping out before placing a wager.

If you’re in the initial seat (first or 2nd to place a bet), you’ll place a single bet. Any person with good cards will call, with hope someone may raise. If someone has made a raise don’t hop to re-raise or call, wait for a small bit – make them think you’re considering your options and then call.

After the flop your course of action will be to get rid of anybody that might get a straight or a flush. So I would start to raise aggressively, if you’re lucky you will fool 1 player into believing that you are faking it.

If you’re in the middle or later seat (one of the last to place a wager) you’ll watch as everybody calls and then raise. Even with you sitting with a pair of aces, if you can try to avert a show-down. Guard your hand by making others to drop out following the flop. If you don’t drive out your opponents you chance squandering your hand.
