No-Limit Texas Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been labeled as the greatest poker competitor on the planet by most of the top-ranked pros. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and moved to New Jersey before his first birthday. His grandpa taught him penny-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From then on on, he was addicted to poker and wanted to learn whatever he could about the game. He routinely would tell his parents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil did not permit the detrimental feedback from other people kill his ambition of becoming one of the greatest poker players in the world.

Phil began playing intently after getting a false ID with the name of Jerome. He practiced his game at the casinos in Atlantic City. The initial number of years for Phil were a learning opportunity and winning wasn’t a normal outcome at the time. Phil became known at the 2000 WSOP where he made 2 final tables and came away with his 1st WSOP bracelet, in a two dollar, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the last table he defeated many of the well known pros which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

Phil made a decision to take his skills to the next level and moved out west to Vegas. He continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players in the world. Ivey credits his success to dedication and an immeasurable passion for the game of poker. Phil states that he’s picking up skills every single day and is incredibly humble about his achievements. He admits to making errors in each game of poker and always aspires to improve.

Despite the fact that Phil has come first in some large tournaments, he likes destroying cash games on a regular basis.
