Net Big Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen

August 27th, 2020 at 20:25

Gus Hansen had an amazing year on the WPT where he was the only participant to make it to the last poker table in 3 of the competitions. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he paid $400, 000 to play. You may recall one of the largest pots in high stakes poker recorded history up against Daniel Negreanu. Gus raked in a large pot with 4 of a kind against Negreanu’s full house. Hansen has made many tv poker appearances and is deemed to be one of the strongest bettors around the world. While participating in internet poker, another side of Hansen has emerged. Gus often competes in the 200/400 NL max buy-in of Forty Thousand dollars. Hansen frequently buys-in for the minimum of $16, 000 and gambles very weak. He waits patiently for a decent hand and then pushes all-in. I accept that Hansen is a great poker player but not even close to the familiar players at 200/400NL. Unless Gus is broke, he has no reason to play at the table with the min buy in.

Buying in for the min takes almost all of the ability out of big stack poker. Hansen is presumed to be 1 of the greatest players in the world but he can’t buy in for the total amount. I believe tv can skew our view of the real world at times. The greatest poker players anywhere in the world might be guys you have won’t have heard about. Gus can be found wagering on web poker on Full Tilt. He generally plays in high stakes omaha eight-or-better and hold’em. Gus Hansen has shown himself as a competition player. Can he back up his skills in cash games?
